Another Christmas card

Just to show you that I have done other backgrounds for my card...just haven't done a red one yet. Maybe tomorrow when I plan to stay at home for the last chance I have before I leave on Tuesday for my Christmas vacation.

Hope you are all having a great time preparing for your Christmas

Jordan's Back Pack

I just wanted to share with you the Back Pack, I made with Deb's instructions, for my little friend Jordan. We are going out for lunch tomorrow and I wanted to have "a little something" to give to my date.
This was a lot of fun to make and is so cute...if you want the tutorial go over to Deb's "IttyBittyInk Spots" there is a link on the right hand side of this Blog.
Thanks for coming by.

Jordon's Birthday

I forgot to share with you a Birthday card I made for one of the most wonderful little boys I have had the privilege to know. He turned 4 this November and had learned about Sock Monkeys at Playschool. So when I found this paper I just knew that it would be used for his card. The 4 is a copper metal number which really set it off.
He is growing up so fast...where do the years go? I'm sure his Mom & Dad are wondering the same thing.

Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

I used this image last year...but it was a different layout so I don't feel bad using it again this year.
Now that I have got these and the cards below started, I am feeling much better about the season.
A lot less Stressed,
Sandy

Christmas Cards started....

I know that I should have started earlier, but better late than never...I started yesterday with finally getting an image that I really liked for the majority of my cards for this year. M-J had this "Snow Covered Homes" stamp that she got from England. It is so versatile that I can use many different coloured cardstock for backgrounds. I had fun colouring & adding some Stickles for the snowy effects.
I got a dozen made this afternoon. This evening I will work on some of the other background cardstock, like the more traditional red and green.

Christmas is coming?

Not only did I put a Christmas Tree on my Blog today, but I actually got started on making one of many sets of cards that I am giving this year as gifts...and not a moment too soon may I say. I am going to the first Christmas get together this Saturday and I need three sets by then!

This is the first of those three sets...there is 12 in all, but some are duplicates. This set is for a friend who has just retired and they are moving out to Nakusp, B.C. I have made this entire set so she can use them as Thank you notes, which is something I know she can use. This was the easy set to do. The others are going to take a little more time as they will be a mixture of Birthday and all occasion cards...so I will have to get my thinking and creative cap on. Or do some looking around for things to CASE. (for those of you not use to carding making that means Copy And Steal Everything or Copy After Seeing Example). I am also giving these gals one of my 2 year Daytimers that I have already finished...so I guess that I had started on Christmas just did know it yet.
Again, I want to Thank you for dropping by, any and all comments are welcomed

I just wanted to show you that I do embellish something other than just cards...these are 2 year daytimers that I have taken apart and re-covered with cardstock, some printed some, cuttlebugged. They are mostly all for gifts for my friends. Some I am making will be sold to bring in some funds to the Social Club where I live.

I am off now for what is going to be a very full and fun filled week. So I may not get back to posting until the week-end. I will check back for any comments though

Thanks for stopping by

Mingle cards I sent

Ok, so I thought I would also show you what I sent out on the mingles last month. The first one is my "Sympathy" themed card for Canadian Cuttlebug Crew which I sent to Linda in Portland Oregon, come to think of it I don't think she has acknowledge receipt of it yet, must check into that next week.
The second one is the Z-fold card I did for the ScorPalPals mingle and it was sent to Christine in Australia. My but I have got a lot of activity going on back and forth to Australia this month haven't I.
Well, thanks for dropping by again. I will try to post more often, but less quantity from now on.
Still a Blogging newbie.

Cards I have recieved

As you can see by the set-up on my Blog, I belong to several Yahoo cardmaking groups. Two of these groups do what is called Mingles. That means that you sign-up and then the mingle co-ordinator gives you the name of one other of the mingle member and you send them a card, usually with a specific pre-determined theme.

I'm sharing with you two that I got today, someone brought me my mail today...I'm sure they have waited in my mail box a day or two.

The second one is from Kaye, all the way from Australia, of Canadian Cuttlebug Crew. Our theme this month was "Sympathy Card". Kaye has done a lovely job using the "Bird in the grass" embossing folder on this wonderful striped cards stock.

The first one is from Wanda, in Virginia, USA, of the ScorPalPals group. Our card was to be a "z-fold card", and Wanda has not only sent me a blessed Christmas card I can use, but she enclosed the pocket calender for 2009 in the same colours.
The reason for the reverse order is that again...I'm learning how this blogging program works when you up-load photos.
It is a lot of fun to exchange in these mingles...one card out for one card in is the perfect ratio for me. We do share all of our mingle cards on the site so everyone can get to see the creations.
Hope you have enjoyed seeing them too.

Somethings I've been doing

I have been trying really hard to get this posting to look right...but I guess I just have to let the program do its thing. So here goes. These are what I have been up to this past couple of days. As they say on "Dancing with the Stars" in no particular order.

At the top is a Birthday card for my cousin Laura's Big day in December. Don't tell her it is done already, but Laura if you see this...there is a special message for you on the inside, although each of those packages next to you are filled with lots & lots of love & good wishes!

This is a Magnolia stamp http://www.magnoliastamps.us/ that I am re-naming "Scottish Tilda". In the colouring of this image I made my best attempt at reproducing the MacRae dress tartan, which I wore when I was involved in Highland Dancing in my youth. I have named this card "Sandy on her way to Dance Class"...because I would often wear my kilt with my favourite green pull-over for class. My hat was just like this except the band was not tartan, I just took poetic license. The socks and shoes are definitely not right, but we will just say that I would have changed them before class started. Mrs. White would have insisted on that!

This last photo is one of 5 invitations I made this week for the staff of the place I live to ask them to come to our Christmas Dinner. We have to get these out to them on Monday as appointment books are fast getting filled for December.
I have really enjoyed myself upstairs in MJ's cardmaking room this week. It is such a treat to have a dedicated space, where you don't have to tidy up each time. And you can leave project half done and come back to them whenever, without wondering where you are going to eat your next meal. I feel so blessed to have this space at my disposal this month.

Judy

This is the first card I am posting on my Blog. It is a stamp from the Pink Collection of Magnolias that I received this week from Diana at http://www.magnoliastamps.us/ . These little girls are usually called Tilda but I have re-named this one Judy in honor of my cousin who has unfortunately joined us personally in the fight against Breast Cancer. We survivors really don't like to see anyone else joining us in this fight. But as the card says we "Believe in Miracles" and God is going to get us through this too.

I hope you enjoy this card. I will be adding more cards as I make them. I will try from now on to put all my cards here as I scan or take pictures of them before they are sent out.

Thanks for stopping by.
